A Japanese friend of mine recently gave me a family recipe for Jingisukan. It is a type of stir fry from Hokkaido made from lamb, bean sprouts, onions and other seasonal ingredients. It is usually served as a communal meal like fondu and is cooked on individual cast iron dome-shaped griddles.

  • I am the proud owner of a new Mongolian Cast Iron Grill.

Can you provide suggestions for a recipe book? Amazon wasn't much help.

If there is a choice, ---mostly beef, pork or chicken recipes.

Pigs and chickens may not have been plentiful in the mountains of Mongolia,

but we're not too fond of mutton.

I know a few gunslingers, so any dead animal recipe is good. LOL

  • @Tankdriver100 I don't have a recipe book for it. Have you ever been to one of those Mongolian BBQ restaurants? I think its mostly just stir fry. Maybe when the weather gets a little better I'll make a few more recipes. You could try making pepper steak on it.

  • Cast Iron Mongolian BBQ Dome Griddle

    Buy new: $36.50

This one seems to be made heavier? Right?

There are cheaper ones. Lighter too. Right?

  • @Tankdriver100 Not sure. I'm happy with the one I bought off amazon. I think they probably make bigger ones too.

  • that lukes awesome i want that cooker and pan

  • @bobmellon The pan is on Amazon. I think its called a mongolian grill or something. The cooker you can get from Stovetec. I love the cooker for sure.

  • Yep. U look Japanize. How'd I miss that? Oh! I cooked some bacon on my Mongol Grill.

Forgot to mention I have to use the Deadwood stove. Grill thing is big... I'll get around to do'n veggie fry.

Oh back to the bacon, yeah it did just a good a job as ol George Forman’s lean mean grill'n machine.

You should be glad the hippies left. It's a sacrifice you can deal with. See how they screwed up California.....

  • @averageiowaguy Yep, heard of Mongolian BBQ joints.

    Until now, meh. LOL

Well hey, I'm a kinda guy who improvises and thrives.

I'll pull up their BBQ sites and look'm over and then get this cast iron grill heated up and have a bit of fun.

  • Oh I need that.

    The dog...... LOL

  • Chingiis Khaan :-)

Lots of sheep meat and dairy products in Mongolia
