I can see why Dior so quickly dismissed Galliano. Everything he has done over the last 5 years or so has been so kitsch:retro. All he has done is contribute a garish palette and gauche tailoring to old standards. I like Galliano but I am looking forward to a new Dior artistic director. The fact that Galliano's eponymous label has never really taken off is statement within itself. He's inspired, but no Yves St Laurent or Gianni Versace.
