@JamjaRs a kid I didn't know how to gargle properly and that stuff is god awful and so strong I ended up always swallowing the stuff and it would burn like hellfire going down. As a adult now if I use that amber version, you have to be careful because it's so strong. Thank goodness that Listerine came out with milder versions today other with the amber mouthwash. Amazingly, all these years it still popular.

The trick with the amber Listerine is to use it BEFORE brushing. Same germ killing, but you get the minty freshness from the toothpaste afterwards. You wonder why they didn't think of that in the 70s. Though I'm sure some people thought of it in the privacy of their bathrooms.

Come see Judd Hirsch's Son Alex's music. It's incredible...

@dandydonaldo I remember this. Wasn't it a commercial for Certs when they were doing their "two-two-two mints in one" ad campaign? That's why he mentioned the number "two" so many times in the commercial, I think.

@4everacartoon Not completely lol it was 1971, check more commercials and PSA's man, appearntly back then marijuana made you go crazy. And that's just commercials, look at all the bogus acts they pulled and told on the people, still today.

Peter Thomas was Listerine's announcer during the '60s and '70s (he often provided whatever slogan they used at the end of their commercials). These days, he's also the voice of Burger King...

I was fortunate enough to work with Judd Hirsch for 4 years on a show called Dear John. I was a cast member. Judd is a wonderful and generous person. He loved animals and helped the wildlife charities. He is a very intelligent guy also.

If you want a mouthwash that does the job no matter how putrid your breath is...its has to be Listerine (Original of course)..

"The taste people hate"... Did you know that Peter Thomas is now doing voice work as the narrator of TruTV's "Forensic Files", since show premired in August 2000 when the network was still known as Court TV? (Not reality, actuality.)
Because back then they told the truth...
