good call on kate nelligan. though i think she was definitely, absolutely leading.
-
jo van fleet in i'll cry tomorrow NOT east of eden
mary astor in the great lie NOT maltese falcon
-
@mensahcarrelle totally agree. the whole film is overrated
-
was dorothy malone always blonde? in big sleep, i thought she had darker hair. i think studios made you die your hair black if you were supporting. dude, you can't have ties, that's cheating
-
lee grant in SHAMPOO = overrated !

I agree: 1936 Luise Reiner in"The reat Zigfield" was a supporting role not a leading role. 1957 Elsa Lanchester for "Witness for the prosecution" 1960 Janet Leigh for "Psico" 1963 Patricia Neal for "Hud". Same reason as Luise Rainer. 1964 Great choice Ava Gardner! 1967 Good choice Katherine Ross I don't agree: 1942 I love Agner Moorehead but Teresa Wright in "Mrs. Miniver" was lovely. Maybe tied was the right choice. 1973 Tatim O'Neil is wonderful in "Paper moon"

I think Maureen Stapleton in "Interiors", Mercedes Ruehl in "The Fisher King", and Muchelle Pfeifer in"Dangerous Liasons"are superb! I cannot understand the Oscars to Jollie and Cruz.

@ariascan2: I'm not a Jolie fan either. All the other nominees were better than her, but her performance is impacting at first - I think this granted her the award.
Thanks for commenting!

@HoicnelixRex: Hey, thanks for commenting, I'm really glad you liked the video!
1939: I really don't get McDaniel's acting in GWTW, I prefer Hamilton.
2008/2009 - I enjoyed both of the performances, Marisa Tomei was also great.
1973- Tatum is leading, not supporting in my opinion
Maureen/Mercedes - I really enjoyed these too, light roles, but the right approach.
Bater - I changed her, I'm re-doing this videos for next year, with less ties.
Weisz/Williams - a close call to me

Glad that you didn't hate her! I know some don't like Jolie, but I loved her! What did you think of Toni Collete's performance that was nominated the same year? I don't really remember her, but I know a lot of people like her performance.

The first time I saw her, I really loved Jolie, but revisiting the movie latter, I noticed that when she is quiet, she is great, but when she screams, it just becomes a mess. Like the scene when she discovers her rommate has died and Susana Keysen is coming to take her bed. I wasn't convinced at all.
I also enjoyed Collete. Is a very quiet, subtle performance, but I think that the movie belongs to Willis and Osment. I mean, I never missed Collete when she was offscreen.
