No they didnt, a small proportion come from ireland the rest of the scots are made up of picts, scandanavians etc.

It is the most annoying thing about being irish in the states is watching the "celtic" groups leach off of the irish heritage. Bagpipes are not part of the Irish Culture!!!!!
-
Actually the interesting thing is the Scotts came to Great Britain from Ireland...

You guys did fantastic! Great job! You all rock in my opinion. I wish we did that sort of thing down here in GA. I'll just have to wait for the Highland Games to hear this kind of music again.

Padraig24: What is your problem? So what if you're complaining about Scotts celebrating St. Patricks Day? Do we really care? Americans celebrate St. Patricks day, yet do you complain? We're all Celts here! In fact, I happen to be Scottish AND Irish. I like to celebrate that fact every St. Patrick's Day.

Why do you feel the need the celebrate your Scottish heritage on an Irish day??? You don't see people celebrating canada or mexico on the 4th of July. Come Hogmany there isn't a peep out of you fuckers ... but on St Patricks day you have to come around to our bars and oppress us you wannabe british thugs. Tiocfaidh ar la
Hi 0t0ku,
Thanks for your nice comments! I passed them on to my husband. He's actually Scots/Irish too. I'm German, but an Irish wannabe. We love Ireland and anything that reminds us of it. Check with any big cities around you and I'll bet you'll be surprised how many bagpipers there really are. They'll play gigs year round if you can get their schedules.
