United States Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Immigration held on July 5, 2006 in Philadephia. Participants at the hearing were Arlen Specter, Ted Kennedy, Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Philadelphia Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson. This part is the seventh of eight and contains a question and answer session with all participants.

  • Nice lead questions Sen. Spector... Too bad the answers given by the big city mayors are rehearsed and aren't even logical. 1st, the Philly mayor says that witnesses shouldn't be asked for their green cards. Fine. Mayor Barletta isn't doing that. You can report a crime no matter who you are (citizen, visitor, illegal). Mayor Bloomberg says they pay taxes but take no benefits. Medical is not a benefit? Schooling (you mentioned both of these) is not a benefit? I could go on & on...
