How many amps is that motor and what thread and needle to you recommend for 4 layers of vinyl?

It's a 201? if yes, many times your machine needs cleaning and oil all over the moving parts,, the old oil and the lint or dust makes a compound that locks the mechanism, the best way to get your machine running again is cleaning it thoroughly and then add lots of sewing machine oil, also I recommend to use one of those cans with compressed air to blow it, this way you will not leave big amounts of oil but the necessary for the parts to move freely.
