Romelu Lukaku (born 13 May 1993) is a Belgian footballer who currently plays for Anderlecht and Belgium. He has been dubbed as the next Didier Drogba and in an interview he said "I'm flattered to be compared to a player like Drogba but I insist in being my own player".

Early life
Lukaku was born in Antwerp and grew up in nearby Boom.

Club career
Youth years
Lukaku joined his local team Rupel Boom at the age of five. After four seasons at Rupel Boom, Lukaku was discovered by scouts of Lierse SK, a Belgian Pro League team with an established youth academy. He played for Lierse from 2004 until 2006, scoring 121 goals in 68 games. After Lierse SK were relegated from the Belgian Pro League, RSC Anderlecht bought no less than 13 youthplayers from Lierse in the 2006 midseason, one of which was Lukaku. He played three more years as a youth player with Anderlecht, scoring 131 goals in 93 games.

Anderlecht
When he turned 16 on 13 May 2009, Lukaku signed a professional contract with Anderlecht until 2012. And 11 days later he made his Belgian First Division debut on 24 May 2009 in the championship play off match against Standard Liège as a 69th minute substitute for defender Víctor Bernárdez. Anderlecht lost the match 1-0. He scored his first goal at senior level against Zulte Waregem in the 89th minute, after coming on as substitute for Kanu after 69 minutes.

International career
Lukaku was a member of the Belgium under-21 team and scored a goal on his debut against Slovenia.

On 24 February 2010, Lukaku was named for the first time in the Belgium squad for the friendly against Croatia. On 17 November 2010, he scored his first two international goals in the friendly match against Russia.

  • @kanzangu URBSFA = "Union Royale Belge des Sociétés de Football Association" in french / KBVB = Koninklijke Belgische Voetbalbond" in dutch. It means "Royal Belgian Football Association"

  • I miss him in Anderlecht :( i wish he come back to rsca. But the good thing is that this video uploaded is on my Birthday ;d

  • I'm playing season mode in fifa 12 and after 3 or 4 seasons lukakus overall is 91. BEAST

  • song name?

  • honestly, with the likes of torres, drogba, and and anelka, i think chelsea need to loan lukaku to gain valuable first division minutes in england. and soon droba and anelka will leave due to rising wages and age, and lukaku will come back as a seasoned professional.

  • @GhostOfAStranger1 Chelsea fan myself, Drogba has already been benched mark along with Anelka and thats just the start of the season, Torres has looks to of had a spark in his feet after a good performance at Stoke but Lukaku will get playing time, hes left footed which enables a better 442 so he can cut in a finesse and drogba is 33 and looks to be hanging his boots at the end of the season, same with anelka, 433, or 422 looks the bound formation because Lukaku can header, and Mata can cross!

  • Welcome to Chelsea Lukaku!

  • What does the letters URBSFA KBVB on the belgian badge stand for???

  • @BipolarNerd Dude belief it ornot but belgium is on the rise!!!!!! Young talent Wise!!!

  • i think Drogba travelled to Belgium and got in crazy parties!! the result.... Romelu Lukaku his lost son!!
