Many thanks to talkingelectronics.

In this video we are showing you how to make
a FM transmitter Bug using 2 transistors and with a transmission range
of 800 meters !!

This FM transmitter Bug is very easy to build.
The size of the circuit board is ONLY 21mm x 15mm.

I design the circuit board layout using
Pain shop pro X2 ,it takes me 2 hours to get
the design right ,i want a very small PCB.

To make the PCB i will be using the toner transfer
method and Ferric Chloride.

Parts used:

Home made PCB ,21mm X 15mm

BC547 transistors x 2

1nf ceramic capacitor

10pf ceramic capacitor

33pf ceramic capacitor

22nf axial ceramic capacitor x 2

1 - 5p to 30p air trimmer

470R resistor

10K resistor

47K resistor

68K resistor

1M resistor

10mm Mic

175cm antenna

Battery Plug

Some solder

19mm heatshrink

  • has anyone made it. i still don't believe that it will transfer good signal at even 20 metres far. just need a proof so that i can start building it.

  • @Arjoonmoal

Yes they work very very well .i have made over 2000 of the type in this video.

Transmission range is very much down to the FM radio sensitivity

My hand held FM radio a Sony ICF-S22 it can only pickup this transmitter from about 200ft but if i use my TECSUN PL-380 then the range is more like 3000ft!

  • I'm having problems finding magnet wire or enamel wire...

    Any alternatives? :\

  • @firelordf16

    Any solid wire will work.

  • HELP AGAIN!!!HOW CAN I INCREASE THE OUTPUT MILLLIWATTS OF THE TRANSMITTER???PLEASE ANSWER ME SOON!!!

  • @vasoeo11

To get a lot more power you will need to use

a different design ,you need to add a amplifier stage,

thats a 3 transistor design, use Google to look for that type

of FM transmitter design or on the talking electronics website.

Or with this type of design try using other transistors ,not the

1st transistor the one near the Mic thats the mic amp the other one.

  • When i touch the antenna or anywhere on the pcb the frequency is slightly variating. Can u suggest any way to eliminate or at least reduce it??

  • @dazaro3 Where can I buy Ferric Chloride?

  • If it works you should make step by step instructions. I'm not a computer nerd but I want this so I need them.

  • @chaitunani4ever

use the middle leg and any 1 of the 2 legs on the side

  • So sick!

  • @firelordf16 look on ebay

  • NICE!!!!

  • Very informative

  • first of all, good job for video. i 'm planning to bild one today/tomorrow. I just could not find electret mic. if i use just a regular mic (headset), and if i take care of polarity, should it still work properly?

    Thanks for your time.

  • my airtrimmer has 3 terminals how to use this????? help me
