Ave Maria as composed by Franz Schubert (1797-1828) recorded at an Ascension Day Concert held in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, Georgia on May 17, 2007.
Conducted by Timothy Hall, performed by mezzo soprano Sarah Hancock.

As a note, none of the instruments being played during the piece normally reside in the Cathedral. (They are not using the Cathedral's organ.)

  • This excerpt is from an all-Schubert concert honoring Patricia Schreck, Organist at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist for over 60 years. Correction on the singer: it is mezzo soprano, Sarah Hancock (not Heidi Bindhammer).

  • I made the change. Thanks for keeping me honest.

  • anytime i hear this it always bring me back to hitman blood money

  • High noise, awful reverb, terrible sound. No matter who she was, the acoustics do not favor her voice.

  • Beautiful music, it resounds in my mind eternally.
