What idiot would vote for John McCain??? POLITICALLY you people are idiots.

seriously, this guy CANNOT be president

Gee, so what!? Somehow not agreeing on a particular holiday makes him evil or something? These days, we don't even have named holidays for Washington or Lincoln - it's just "President's Day" - but we have one for a civil rights leader. Lincoln did less or something? Seems imbalanced to me.

Just a wild guess here, but they probably hated them AFTER the white kids hung nooses on a school yard tree that was blatently nicknamed "the White tree." There are blacks that don't like white people, but given the HISTORICAL ramifications between blacks and whites in this country (examples that are steadily happening on a DAILY basis), don't you think many blacks have a right to be angry and untrusting of white Americans? Think of it in terms of Sen. Obama's recent "small town/bitter" comment.

And I bet the kids in the Jena 6 beating hated white people too. Why can't you point the racist finger at black people once and a while? There are many of them out there.

No, Obama didn't appear in Memphis because he didn't want to cheapen the experience to a mere photo op and FAKE rehashing of Dr. King's "dream" like Sen. McCain and Clinton did. Both could care less about Dr. King. Their journey there was purely for their own personal benefit; to gain the black vote in the upcoming election. The entire time Clinton & McCain have been in the public eye, they never even thought about doing anything like this. Just a poor strategic dance on Dr. King's legacy.

i think he was lying to cover up that he hates black people =)
McCain not knowing about Dr. King at 47yrs. old proves just how out of touch he is with not only the African-American population, but an entire GENERATION of people who devoted their lives to Civil Rights. Granted the struggle for civil rights is still an on-going process, its a little too late to be pretending as if he's interested in this struggle and the people involved in it. McCain trivializes Dr. King's legacy and that "apology" was nothing more than a dance on his grave.

40 years of Civil rights...and an African American is still holding McCain's Umbrella.
