Lasciatemelo dire, a me che ho avuto la incommensurabile fortuna di ascoltarlo dal vivo coi Berliner. Il disco, per quanto di eccellente qualità tecnica, non renderà mai giustizia al Karajan dal vivo.

I could listen to the first 20 seconds of this a million times and still get tears in my eyes...that opening horn call gets me every time. One of my favorite symphony openings (along with Mahler 5). I guess I'm a sucker for brass calls.

The first movement is peerless.Like a full work.The seed ofTapiola.Any conductor that attempts to approach this Monolith better have a seemless ground game,and a perfect receiving corps.

The first real favorite after No 2 before I fell in love with the 7th! Here Karajan is more dramatic than most and better than Bernstein!

Ascoltate sul quarto minuto di questa registrazione, come sembra di vedere uno stormo di uccelli che migrano, lontano all'orizzonte ....Peccato non ci sia la Sesta Sinfonia su Youtube, al momento. Karayan che interpreta la Sesta sinfonia di Jean Sibelius, nella incisione per la Deutsche Grammophone, è una delle più potenti e coinvolgenti droghe per l'anima di ogni ascoltatore !!
