This was the first song I ever bought ( on 7" single ) , I couldn't have started my record collection with a better song . A classic song indeed .

"Fade To Grey" music was written by Billy Currie and Chris Payne. Gary Numan said that Currie and Payne would work on it during sound checks on the European leg of the '79 tour. Midge Ure added the vocals later.

@medljoc The second single I bought was " Cars " and followed this with most of the other Gary Numan singles . I now listen to these songs on my Ipod . How times have changed but this music is timeless !
