Recently a pair of Westinghouse two tone locomotive horns were bought off Ebay by one of our members, during the first working weekend of 2008 the horns were delivered and late on the sunday was an ideal oppertunity to try them out ;)
On a side note, D8233 still has a pair of its orginal horns fitted at one end but they are missing at the other, as these horns are of a similar type (but the trumpets are too long) that will be used as replacements for the horns missing at the B end of the loco.
That's a Westinghouse AA-1. they came in straight and curved trumpets. The Lackawanna "Green" and Reading "Blue" MU's all had them. The Key System duplex units had them too. I understand they were original equipment on the P&W Bullets but as parts ran out they were replaced in the 1960's with long-bell A-2's and a few got AA-2 two-trumpet horns. HOLD ON TO THEM!! Sand down the diaphragms, reinstall them and they should work fine.

Hi.
I have just bought a set of these horns and one didnt work. If you undo the grubscrew holding the trumpet on then tighten or loosen the trumpet while operating the horn. That way you can get the diaphram the correct distance from the lower end of the trumpet.
super horns
