this is the first part of my attempt to fix gta4 freezing issues on my ps3. i've tried over 50 times with no effect.

my gta 4 stared to freeze then my ps3 wont play blu ray i rang sony they told me that i need to restore my ps3(the long one not quick restore) and then my ps3 should stsrt playing blu ray disks againg however for me to be able to play gta4 again i need to download the gta software from the net and the only way i can do that isto go online with my ps3 i dont have net at home and i can download it to usb either for some danm reason that wont work (sonys words not mine) what am i meant to do

is there any place near you that has wi-fi? i know it would be a pain in the ass, but if you could get a small lcd tv to take with you, you could set up your ps3 in a coffee shop that has free wi-fi( if they do that in your area - i don't know where you live! )and that way you should be able to get your update. it may take some time, but the ps3 actually has a pretty good wi-fi connection. i hope this helps you...

This game also freezes on the xbox 360. It has froze a couple times during gameplay usually when im driving.

Mine freezes when i play,Like it gets it for a while then if i drive the car to fast everything starts looking weird and BOOM! it freezes lol

And it doesn't freeze online..Well sometimes but i get to play it for a good couple of minutes maybe..maybe! some hours lol

So what should i do?

Its freaking 2010, and I still keep freezing whenever I load up the game. It freezes at the blue rockstar logo and I can't even install to HD.

yeah mine freezes as soon as i drive onto that industrial island. It alsways freezes at that point so I can't complete the missions. My friend lend me his version and it STILL freezes at the same spot. that SUCKS. we were sold a half assed product. I'm gonna post a a vidoe on how it freezes.

On my game on the ps3 it stops at the first loading screen the 1 with niko behind the crates and it says that it hasnt installed correctly and to reinstall it but it doesnt work... Help?

You're commentaries are great and I've pretty much got the same outlook on all this GTA IV crap and with Rockstar not really doing shit about helping us out, but the cussing isn't neccesary. It can be funny and helpful for emphasizing stuff, but yeah, whatever dude.

I wonder if Rockstar's planning on actually doing anything about the problem this year. Hopefully the release of the new island will include a patch to fix up all this freeze stuff.
