Millennium Force at Cedar Point.

Other than Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force is the next biggest coaster at Cedar Point. Towering 310ft. above Ohio, it is the most massive coaster I have ever seen. When you see it from the Power Tower, you notice how much land the coaster takes up.

When I got to Millennium Force I noticed that it had the longest queue line I have ever seen for a coaster. After the ocean of handrails I was finally on the ride. The cable lift goes up the tall 310ft hill rapidly. Maybe a little too fast for a lift hill. Once it reaches the crest of the hill it does not slow down, or it speeds up if anything. Before thinking about enjoying the view it plunges down the incredible first drop the coaster is known for. Your butt does not touch the seat until the drop is done. When the train reached the maximum speed it feels almost like a launch coaster. After the amazing first drop the train whips over the first banked turn. Soon after some staight track it zooms into a left turn inside of a tunnel which shoots you back out into a large airtime hill. It's about this point of the ride where I got an idea of how fast the ride was moving as it flew over the next two banked turns. From there you head into another airtime hill and a bit of more straight track before going into another tunnel with another left turn (yeah, kind of repeats elements). Fallowing that, the train soars over a small bunny hop next to the station. Next up is another section of flat track then the fun last banked turn over the ocean of handrails. The bakes then kick in causing a smooth stop.

What suprised me about the layout of the ride was that it kept that high speed pace throughout the ride. It soars over all the hills and banked turns and feels as if it never slows down. After the first drop, it lacks a lot of g-force, the ride provides a small amount of airtime, and has a lot of straight track. The first drop and the speed of the coaster kind of makes up for all the flaws it has.

Overall Millennium Force is a ride that can't be missed on a trip to Cedar Point.
