  • i've never heard of the tatra before....the front definetly looks like the inspiration for the V.W.Bug......but i think the Chrysler is the more Beautifull of the 2....the airflow is amazing!

  • VW Bug-1938 is copy TATRA 570- 1933

  • Close call, but the Tatra wins. Hard to believe this beauty is almost 80 years old. Very much ahead of its time. Seems the Czech had some outstanding cars in this era.

The Tatra all alloy DOC V8 went from 1934 to 1999. Incredible. It was so far ahead. Yes, the last did have fuel injection. How good the injection system was to the state of the art in 199, I don't know.

  • Road tatra's last race version was fuel injected - over 4 Litres in displacement and over 400hp (still rear engine) produced by Ecorra

  • Chrysler Airflow is the most influential car ever produced...Many firsts in automotive history .....(aerodynamics.....safety....construction) among others....and is a visually stunning.......one of the most beautifull cars ever to grace 4 wheels.

"I've never heard of the tatra before."

    Search youtube "TATRA MTX V8"

The Tatra is better looking than the ugly Chrysler.

The pre-war Tatra 4 wheel drive suspension design has not been beaten today.

The Tatra V-8 was alloy and air cooled. A high power/weight ratio for the time. It did not freeze up. I would like to see one of these engines with a modern fuel injection and management system. They still would shine. I "think" the last of the V8 Tatras did have fuel injection

  • @Weigelfilm

VW paid royalties to Tatra after WW2 for ripping the car off.

  • Reminds me of many Citroen cars.

  • All kidding aside... Thanks for sharing.
