CEP President Dave Coles speaks at a rally to oppose CETA the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement between Canada and the European Union. This is another anti-democratic trade deal being negotiated behind closed doors with the only input coming from big corporations looking out for their own interests.

  • I have no problem with letting foreign companies provide cell service in Canada... I use wind because they don't screw me like Rogers/Bell ALWAYS have, the rest of this I partially agree with.

  • Our gov. secret" CETA plan would privatize / sell our entire country giving rights to shareholders not citizens! Our water, food natural resources & public sector are all on the table. "provision of CETA that will give European corporations the right to sue Canadian governments if they try to interfere with their "right to profit." universities healthcare Crown corps utilities postal public services drinking water sewage copyright drugs telecommunications cultural rules liquor banking.."

  • It is great for there to be a public debate on issues such as free trade with the EU. It is, however, unlikely that CETA will be stopped, given that the Liberal Party and the Conservative parties back the initiative.

There are potential benefits to CETA that shouldn't be overlooked. ie. the notion that Canada could decrease its dependence on US trade. Also, if trade restrictions were decreased on agricultural products, that could be very beneficial for the Canadian wheat and beef industries.

  • Harper IS the problem, he IS the Prime Minister, regardless of the fact that he is property of banks and corporations he still represents something very important - he should be making decisions in the best interest of all (or at least the vast majority) Canadians. It's because he clearly ISN'T doing this and rarely has ever done this that we can and do blame HIM.

    Shame on Steven Harper.

  • Harper is NOT the problem!! It is the bankers who OWN that prick and every other PM. FUCK!!! GET THAT STRAIGHT!

These protests are a fucking waste of time if you are not accusing the right people.

I suppose it is nice to see people showing up for something. I don't have the answers anymore..I don't know what or how to show people that you can't shop at fucking Walmart etc...use fiat money created out of thin air and expect things

to change. Protest the fiat devaluation is you want to protest

  • and I applaud the man who yelled "our water"!
