WJLA 5PM News Open 1984

From WJLA Washington the 5PM News Open, similar graphics were first done for WCBS in New York. This set did not last very long, red walls and the sacrificial altar anchor desk was not a good look.

WJLA's Circle 7 logo looks similar to Seven Network's logo from 1989 to 1999!

I think its the reverse, the Seven Network logo looks like WJLAs! Also the 9 Network logo is similar to the WTOP 9 logo from the 70s. Both Aussie networks logos were based on two local DC stations, how did that happen?

I can't forget the way he said WAVY-TV 10 (NBC) for Norfolk, VA.

What year did WJLA-TV use this open. I seen some from 1986 and it was different. Then WJLA went back to this in 1987. The changed to the 1988-92 theme in early '88.

I assumed Dan Lewis went straight from WISN to Seattle. He was at Channel 12 through at least the early parts of 1984. How long was he in D.C.?

@raymieX Speaking of that, 'JLA nowadays should use that logo that the Aussie Channel 7 had used, instad of that WABC, WKYZ, KABC, WLS style logo they got now.

@eyeontv If you look closely, the Aussie '90s Circle 7 has a bit thinner strokes and a differently-angled terminal cut at the top left.
