The Jazz At The Movies band featured some great musicians. Here's their take on the theme from the movie "Farewell My Lovely".

  • Woaw ...

    Merci beaucoup.

  • I would like to use this recording for a Book Trailer. How did you get the License. What is a Standard YouTube License?

  • the piano player on my video was Eddie Higgins, playing "Haunted Heart."

  • I have this album (above) but listen to the original soundtrack version of the FML theme - it's more sultry and haunting. But this is still very good. And yes, I'd also buy a DVD of FML if the clowns who own the rights would release it!

  • This is lovely!

  • When I hear this, I stand in the window of a cheap hotel, let the flashing sign light my room, pull long, deep drags from my cigarette, and think of that dame.

  • @thedealer777 I love your little review. It reads like you are channeling Chandler, for all the reasons you named. Nothing sets the mood better than this music, supporting the cast, supporting the stars, supporting the script and then there is the director. A great piece of Period work and if it were not so pricey, many more would buy the DVD on-line. Sleaze music I call it, not the big band sound of WWII, this music reeks of everyone on the take. In retro, it was a simpler time. Just like now.

  • Excellent noir theme to Raymond Chandler's work.

You can practically inhale the cheap perfume, cigarette, and gun smoke! It takes you to a time when men wore hats and women wore gloves. And when a good-lookin' dame smoldered-by... you could almost feel her in you left pocket. Still the track from "Sax and Violence" is better.

  • Nice Smooth !!!!
