Robert Mason's Stardrive rip through a set of cosmic instrumentals. Mason used 2 Arp 2500s combined to produce early polyphonic sounds. It's a little known classic that is unlike anything else.
Wow! Sure is great to hear this on YouTube! Haven't been able to listen to these in years! However, just so you know, there is a skip at around 0:55 where a small part of "Pulsar" gets lost. I wonder if you could fix and re-post? Otherwise, thanks a bunch for this and the other Stardrive tracks!
Bob Mason was my boss in the '90's, he owned and operated a recording studio between Union Square and Washington Square Park in NYC. He was full of great stories about the early days of electronic music, and he even claimed to have flown into the Woodstock festival via helicopter with replacement P.A. parts. He was attacked by a deranged fan during a (Carnegie Hall?) performance in the 70's, which hastened his retreat from performing. Prior to Stardrive, he was a child prodigy composer/ pianist.
@sustayne True Dat!!!. there was another dude he was as obscure as Mason,he had one LP,but never to be seen or heard of again,he and mason should have teamed up and formed a band, the guy's name was "Timo Laine" he played rock guitar synthesizer.
I adored this band. They were tight as hell and the music ALWAYS took the listener on a journey. Listen to the track here and imagine performing it. No wonder Mason screams with excitement during this track. I challenge any musician to listen at rehearsal volume and not get totally pumped. I don't know whatever became of Mr. Mason, but this is one artist who should absolutely get his ass back on the stage with a hot band and bring the damn house down proper. He can do it.

I had this album and played the hell out of it at high volume. Energizing!
For those in the Boston area, it was the theme music for WBZ-TVs Eyewitness News with Doug Henning.
Thrilled to find this here!
