Compiling John Byrne's incredible run on the Fantastic Four, in which he was careful to remember that they are, first and foremost, a family with all the interpersonal dynamics involved therein. That and their adventures around the world and around the galaxy make this a lot of fun - highly recommended!

  • "For me, growing up"? What do you mean "growing up"? Looking at you....you're what......at least in your mid fifties? When Byrne was doing FF, that puts you in your thirties. Unless you mean emotionally, I'd say you were already grown up.

  • @TheMysteryPoster I was 16 when Fantastic Four #232 (the first issue Byrne wrote & drew) was published in July of 1981. So yes, "growing up" is accurate.

  • byrne gave so much more life to the characters than i ever thought stan did. Stan and kirby set the ground work but John's run is the heart and soul of what every FF writer has been modeling after since. His run on the x-men with claremont was also soooo freaking good. i even have the first 30 issues of alpha flight.

  • : ) : ) : ) JOHN BYRNE. : ) : ) : )

  • it's great to see John Byrne talking about his own run lol

  • I agree with what you said about John Byrne. Sometimes I think it's overlooked or under appreciated, however, that said, I think of Jack Kirby first, when thinking of the FF. Great cosmic SF team book.

  • Just got mine today for $63. Can't wait for vol. 2.

  • @fernandoiscrazy It's a preview and a recommendation to pick up the book when it comes out. Anyhow, it's out now already.

  • How did you get this item when it's only available for pre-order at Amazon on November 23 2011?
