Just playing around really ! I'm NO organist and thus have utterly no experience on a pedal instrument, but I can easily see the potential that having a pedal board adds to contemporary music for the harpsichord. The low notes in Glass's Metamorphosis can actually be heard when I try it on this instrument. So just having a little fun with this, not to be taken seriously, but I really have many ideas ahead with this glorious instrument in Boston. Thanks to my dear friend Peter Watchorn for letting me make noise on it

  • it's good, I'm a big harpsichord repetoir fan, I'm also a big Philip Glass fan and I think the two transition quite well, ps love your haircut

  • tee-hee thanks, its a bit wild there, usually bit more controlled. I can never manage it when I'm on holiday :P

  • Where did you find this instrument at?

  • See my comment at the bottom of the page. Its currently located in Boston.

  • @chriswales19 Which Metamorphose is this? I've got the scores of all four, and I'm having trouble matching this one up.

  • @JupiterIV Its the 3rd! :)

  • @Darkboy2525 A Harpsichord with another harpsichord played by a pedal board, similar to an organ. Schumann, Schubert et al wrote for a similar type instrument, the Pedal Piano.

  • That's just sexy!

  • cute

  • Actually very nice - thanks for recording it :-)

  • When I was a freshman in high school, I fell in love with the harpsichord, which was enjoying a revival of sorts in popular music at the time (Play with Fire by the Stones, Fixing a Hole on Sgt. Pepper's, et al.). One of my favorite albums from this time was "Back on the Pedal Harpsichord" by E. Power Biggs—unfortunately never released on CD. I enjoyed the laser-crisp clarity of the counterpoint (not as obvious when played on the pipe organ).

  • Very well done.

  • You've got the goods to sell this stuff. Beautifully conceived and performed.

  • Nice ass~
