  • Great review!

I appreciate the description of Picard and the acknowledgement of his growth.

One thing though, Speed and Velocity aren't the same, yeah? I'm no scientist, but if Velocity is reduced to zero, doesn't that simply mean Speed remains constant?

  • @Williamsfan You're thinking of acceleration. Velocity is the combination of speed and direction; you can change velocity without changing speed, but you cannot change speed without changing velocity. Acceleration is a change in velocity, so if you have no acceleration, your velocity (and thus your speed) would remain constant).

  • I tried reformatting the link to the old format (to make it shorter). Part two wound up linking to something by the First Baptist Church of Los Alamos. No midget with a cowbell there!

  • I gotta have more cowbell!

  • Smaller people after a societal and economic and especially apocalyptic collapse makes a lot of sense, actually. After such a collapse there's less food, and less variety of food. How tall you grow is related to how well you eat (not to mention you need to eat less if you're smaller so you're more likely to survive than someone big). Result: less tall people.

  • @sfdebris Ah, and now I know. Thanks!

  • And I give this episode a 9 because of Space Jellyfish

  • I absolutely adore Encounter at Farpoint but unlike Voyager fans I can deal with something I like being criticised or made fun of :)

  • Can one still comment on blip. tv? I can't see them anymore.

  • @sfdebris Science teacher for the win!

Velocity is speed in a certain direction. You seem to be thinking of acceleration which is a change in velocity.
