**MUSIC HAS NOW BEEN AUDIO SWAPPED!**

The first EVER motion picture was made in Leeds in 1888 by Louis Le Prince. The general awareness of this absolutely historical landmark in film and cinema is hardly known, even to the community of Leeds - therefor, for my final project i decided to design a cinema.

It is a riverside site which has a perfect view of Leeds Bridge too!

This video explained how the spaces work, what impact the scheme had on the site, and it included the scheme in context - all of which helped enhance my presentation. This project received a 1st - RIBA approved :)

All work by Sundeep Singh Osahn

** Yes, i know the rendering is terrible..lol. I didnt make this for the render quality, it was more an exploration of demonstrating the architectural qualities and spaces of my design. Plus I wanted to do some 3D motion tracking and experiment with different software :p

  • hi, sundeep, im at leeds met doing landscape architecture at the mo..just wondered what program you used to fit the proposed building into the real life footage? great vid by the way! :)

  • @neeeko7 Hi neeko7, I used a mixture of programs actually... for the model itself I used Cinema4D, for tracking the real life footage I used Boujou, and for masking out people walking by and for adding the 3D footage to live footage I used After Effects.

    Hope that helps!! :)

  • hey, Nice video!

but I don't know if you know how to solve the problem with the shadows already.

But the flickering is caused by the GI settings. Its set to ''Still image''

If you go into the Render settings > Global illumination > Then select: Animation instead of Still image.

That will get rid off the flickering in the shadows.

Well I personal use Cinema 4D V 11.5, So I don't know If you can change the GI settings in any earlier version.

  • @BinnyNL thanks for the advice man. Yeah I had to use very low settings (and had to suffer with the flickr) due to time constraints - this was more or less rendered and put together the night before the exhibition - better than nothing! I was happy with the compromise since it gave a more conceptual feel. In fact, a lot of people (who dont know C4D or rendering all that well) quite liked the flickering!lol

I'll probably re-render it using vray or AR3 in R11.5 when I have time. keep an eye out!

  • Don't get me wrong. That's quite nice project, but in my opinion it doesn't fit in the surrounding. At least the first two buildings.

  • Thanks for your comment, but I think it fits quite well because of the contrast between the two adjacent buildings. Plus with a lot of my designs, the spaces that are created inside the building are more important than the look from outside. I appreciate your opinion!

  • Nice! must have taken you alot of time to work out how to do this

  • @B0g0ev , I agree with you. It doesn't fit in. The building itself is good, however, the buildings on either side have different materials and completely different styles to the one that you have created. But a nice building none the less :P

  • nice work!

  • The original music I had on this vid had to be changed due to copyright infringement... still, it doesnt detract much from the actual animation!
