And I notice that "investors" don't think about the environment, or the future beyond money, or any thought about our children's stake on this planet. Typical rape the earth and pretend we are somehow separate from nature and immune to its laws. Hoarding a ton of money will not help the world at all. If our taxes aren't being put to work on the energy problem first and foremost, a lot of us must die. The rich just die later in a more unpleasant world.

Peak oil already will destroy 5 billion of the world's population by simple mathematics and the law of thermodynamics. All the other talk of "the economy" is moot. The economy=energy. Not money, gold, nor products, etc. Without sufficient hydrocarbon energy our planet must go back to the amount of sunlight that humans can capture per year to support our species. What is really developed that can realistically do that at this time?

@RideMyBMW Oil is not only used on cars, look around you, half of those things are made from / with oil (plastic, glue, gum, medicines, brake fluid, ink, crayons etc.)
