  • Please - there is plenty of research out there about how to teach subtraction for conceptual understanding. We are not borrowing - we are regrouping a quantity of 3 tens and 2 ones to become 2 tens and 12 ones. We are not borrowing anything.

  • What my 2nd grade teacher taught me was helpful, "If There's More On The Floor, Go Next Door, Knock On The Door, and Ask For Ten More."

  • Better to use Base-10 Blocks to help them understand how they borrow.
