There's always a hint of a relationship with any doctor and his female companion but the onscreen chemistry between Tom Baker's Doctor and SJS always felt the most like a real loving relationship - like a young couple in love, having fun and enjoying each other. Or maybe that was just me projecting my young love for her into the show :)

Legend has it that of all the companions, (female of course,) the only one Tom Baker never had an affair with was Elisabeth Sladen. And by all accounts she was the one he respected and appreciated the most.

I'm one of the few from the younger generation of Whovians who started with anyone other than the ninth, tenth, or eleventh.

Tom Baker was, without a doubt, the best Doctor ever..

Baker is an intellectual powerhouse, a comedy genius and a gem of a human being. It only takes a two cent fart for a brain to recognize that. B) He happens to play the part of an ALIEN in DW. Do enlighten us all on how that SHOULD be approached. Funny how left shoes can become iconic figures in television history and have millions of fans. Taste... It's a heck of a thing, isn't it?

The 'Generic and Dull Actors' collection is elsewhere. Tom Cruise is popular there.
