  • @mf481516 but, no because bon iver is a band! :)

  • must get this album

  • (comment pt. 2) ...I wish they had played around with these sounds a little longer to make something compelling, rather than just repeating them endlessly with little variation.

  • This album convinced me that if you can sell the idea that an album is deep or meaningful, people will totally buy into the hype regardless of actual quality. And not unlike religion, if you disagree you "just don't get it/have faith." In this case, coming off of Justin Vernon's excellent For Emma, it's easy to want to believe this will be just as good, but the majority of this album is really, really weak.

  • @rullverine I agree 100%. The biggest problem with much of the 'music' on this album (just now gave it another full listen) is a lack of progression. By the way, Bonobo and Four Tet do have definite progression... this does too, but it's frustratingly, achingly slow. That doesn't make it 'beautiful' just boring. I think Bon Iver's way better off working without a band.

  • WOW the intro sounds similar to Windowsil by Arcade Fire!

  • I present to you the 100th like

  • see plymouth

  • @rullverine Since when do Bonobo or Four tet songs go anywhere? Give me a break. Listen to Do Make Say Think or Broken Social Scene. Now those are songs that "go somewhere."
