@8myhomework lol police keeping you safe? This guy was a threat to you huh? Who's going to keep you safe when they're busting down your door idiot?
-
@8myhomework he was unarmed and he said there was no confrontation, and when the cops do a drug bust they don't knock they break the door down (and maybe throw a flash grenade in) without warning then rush in

@8myhomework They are trying to keep us safe from Cannabis? A substance that has killed exactly 0 people? They are hired thugs from the alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceutical industries: The biggest funders of the war on drugs. They broke into this man's house and shot him. This kid was not a drug dealer, and "suspected drug dealer" means they have a lot more research to do before breaking and entering a house of an unarmed man with guns blazing. What happened to good old fashioned police work?

@bjr6464 I agree a drug is a drug lets get rid of all medicare drugs for old pieces of shit on our tax dime. The only justice is someone should shoot that piece of shit officer. a bullet for a bullet. Many developed countries don't have their officers carry guns, and have less crime than we do. You can't esculate violence, and not expect it to esculate in all facets of life.

@8myhomework he was trying to let them in but.. it was a knock and shoot for the cops. soon as he looked though the window to see who was there BAM,that not safe at all. like i say pot won't kill u but a cop can and its sad to say but true...he never sold drugs just talk about drug use on youtube....legalize pot for the good of the people..smoking pot daily is safer than drinking beer daily... stay safe scott...................

@bjr6464 I have to disagree about "a drug is a drug, regardless of how serious it is." Motrin is a drug; methamphetamine is a drug. This doesn't make Motrin "bad," and it certainly doesn't make meth "good."
Oversimplifying matters is why the War on Drugs exists. No thinking person could possibly deny that the War on Drugs is a total, utter failure. No one has ever overdosed on pot. Students for Sensible Drug Policy

That microphone looks like he's holding a gun in his right hand.

By your logic, shooting some heroin into your vain is the equivalent of a glass of wine after dinner. L2notsuckatthinking.

So, they shoot an unarmed sleepy kid in his own home,as he's trying to open the door for them. This is the reason I have a gate and a hundred or so feet of sidewalk to cross before you can even knock on my door. And there are those very large loyal dogs they will need to shoot. Once they shoot my animals with no warning, I'm free to assume that there's an armed robbery going down and can commence firing.

@8myhomework explain to me, how marijuanna has anything to do with how the police keep us safe. Tell me what dangerous or threatening thing was Derek Copp doing to deserve being shot? If you go around giving the police clearance to look first and shoot later, or give them sentiment after using excessive force that was obviously un necessary, then who's going to stop them from pushing the envelope farther each time. You've got at a very piss poor idea of justice. Whats sad is the police, not pot
That is sad, this officer was entering the apartment of a suspected drug dealer his gun would most likely have been ready for the worst...Why did this guy not let them in? Afraid because of his drugs I guess...He IS still alive...lucky to be alive...On the other hand I am grateful that the police our out there trying their best to keep us safe....I would never wish any violence on them when they risk their lives to protect us...Wishing the best for all involved.

While I agree that the kid should NOT have been shot, I disagree about the weed thing. A drug is a drug, regardless of how serious it is.
Hopefully the officer who shot the kid will be brought to justice. I highly doubt he will though. I personally know some cops, and they always have each others backs.
