Translation below:
B side of the French maxi SP "Aime-moi", 1986
This song is far greater than the A side, pity it stayed completely unknown to most.

The Heroes of the day,
Still remember,
A few blur pictures
Of souvenirs getting older now
A glance that has lived
And your skin that shivers
Fragile angel hides his injury
Of emotions that resemble us

CHORUS:
On the screen of your life
When the story fades
And that only a trace is left
On the screen of my life
The life goes on
But the picture reassures me
Love is here

The Heroes of the day,
Who are also singing
But their dream of freedom
Is melting away in a sorrow
Your injured smile,
I keep it inside me
It holds me when I dream
Of a child that resembles us

The Heroes of the day
For whom nothing changes
Will now no longer come
Devoted prisoners,
But the child who is sleeping
Here within me,
Carries within him the tearing
Of a story that reassembles us

(the parts in italics are part I have more or less guessed for I can't decipher the exact word due to the accent)

/////////////////////////////////////////////////

Chorus

*Underlined bits are part I can't quite decipher and the grammar is fraud at that point, so I can't know for sure because of her accent, quite strong at some point. I can get the meaning but not the exact words.

  • My file of this song begins a few seconds after this one. I have never heard the beggining sounds of it.

  • @danielco2 Well, my dear friend, we'll have to fix that :) I'll send it. It's ripped from the SP vinyl I bought while living in France back in the early days we've met :)

  • @telsurrey no problems, you're welcome, and I'm glad I had the chance, it's quite hectic now :) Enjoy them!

  • @helow98 Thanks a lot for all the work you have done here. I didn't expect that you would have been able to post the lyrics so quickly! Much obliged!

  • @telsurrey If you click the information below the video, you will now find the French lyrics after the translation. Hope you enjoy them :) !

  • @telsurrey Well, thank you very much :) And yup, definitely French. I'll listen and write the French lyrics asap, I just came out of the plane from a long journey, my guess is in a couple of days I'll be aware enough to do it :) thanks for your patience.

  • @helow98 much appreciate your help with my request for the French lyrics. I am surprised when you say that you are French as your post is written in perfect English! I know a little French, and love to hear Ofra sing in your language. So if you can post the French lyrics I would be grateful.

  • @telsurrey so comment me back by then (in case I don't remember it on time)

  • @telsurrey I don't know about another copy, surely there must be. This track I had it ripped from a SP nine years ago when i was still living in France. I got so used to it that I don't even notice the imperfection.

I could give you the French lyrics as far as I can get them (a couple of words I quite can't make it, despite the fact I'm French). But unless someone can do it before then, it'll have to wait my return, I'm heading away in a couple of hours and won't be back for a whole week,

  • Thanks helow98 for a great undiscovered track. I would like someone to post the original French lyrics, if possible. And is there another copy out there which does not contain that distortion at 3.05?
