This is the last video in this tutorial-series
Make sure to watch in 720p!

In this tutorial-series I make a WASD control system like World of Warcraft, and also a left/right mouse camera similar to WoW as well. And finally, I do a simple attack (right click).

  • i'v done everything right, and followed the video. and it all works exept for the attack. when i click on player 15, my dark templar donsn't attack, only take 1 step and stops, even when your allredy in combat he wont attack if i click :(

plz help, this is the only thing i need to start finishing my map.

  • @A7C11 Hmm I'm not totally sure what's going on; Im guessing the attack order is not going through... try debugging the trigger by making it display a message to you if your guy is ordered to attack...

  • Hai der! Thanks for a awesome tutorial!

I'm new to this so i'm just gonna throw it out there, i'm trying to go for a TPS ish camera view, and i noticed when you get close to an cliff the cam dose somethign wierd and moves up/zooming out. So basicly i would like to lock the camera to what i set it to be in the first place, TPS view. Is there an easy fix from this tutorial to make it like that or do i have to do it another way? :) Thanks in advance!

  • @IsmDaL I haven't looked at fixing that stuff myself yet... try searching sc2mapster... maybe something there.

  • When I have chosen the size of the map in the beginning, can i change it after that? because I have done everything in your 4 videos with a ghost and now the map is way too small for it

  • @drftismer Map->Map Bounds and make sure modify map bounds is checked.

  • Yes, thank you. I followed this exactly (except for dark templar character) and it turned out perfect. Thanks again!

  • Very cool stuff mate! I was wondering about one thing though. Is it possible to have such free camera control to enable unrestricted camera so you can pan/rotate/pitch/zoom/dolly/fov while watching sc2 replays? Would be really cool if this was possible, people can make really nice vids.

  • @A7C11

  • @shadowdestroyer64 sorry i cant remmember, i havent been using the editor for almost a year now, i can try opening it again and see if i did fix it, and ill pm you.. but no promises

  • @A7C11

Hey dude did you fix it cuz i am having the same thing happend to me plz tell me what you did

  • how can you remember all this without a letter or something like that? that's insane

  • @OneTwoSC

what dose that mean i am having the same thing happen to me help =(

  • Sir, I must say these tutorials are very helpful! Me being a new to the whole Modding on this level I may have overlooked something in the camera editing. When I run the game the Left and Right click buttons work, but if I use the mousewheel it changes the camera to default zoom in/out. is there a way to lock or prohibit the game from doing so?

Also have you taken a look at the DoW:Ret map editor?

  • After the "Player presses button down", you can add a move action, so that he moves instantly, instead of waiting 0.1 sec before moving. 0.1 sec sounds little but u can tell it's there. If you do like this there won't be any lag.

  • Please respond asap im in the mid of making a map and i was wondering could u make an attack button?
