This video marks the start of XamXam which grew out of Musa Mboob and Jon Mason's HamHam project. Musa arranged for over 50 musicians to meet up in The Gambia and create some new music based on the songs of West Africa.
Top quality international musicians based in the UK travelled to The Gambia and worked with four groups of musicians from different tribes.

This video was edited while out in The Gambia so our friends and families back home could see what we were up to.
At the start The Karondinka performing a traditional greeting song for us when we arrived in The Gambia and they end the video with the song Democracy.
Followed by a clip of the Jola tribe performing their song Penimo.
Next up Laurel with the Wolof musicians playing Guedj E Mba Mulan.
Then Phil playing recorder with Sulayman and Bai.
