IWBTG Secret Items

Here are all 6 secret items in I Wanna Be The Guy

The first one is near the beginning if you choose the upper path. You just have to go left instead of up towards Tyson. There are a bunch of secret jumps. It may be a little tricky, but it is by far the easiest.

The second one is past the ghouls n ghosts part, right before Mecha Birdo. You have to jump up before the moon crashes down. It is a spike-filled, tricky-jump room. You have to be quick and precise to make it past the second part's spikes.

The third secret is after the kirby chase sequence. You have to wait for the moving spike wall to crush the wall after the save point. DON'T SAVE! If you save, the wall resets and you can't get the secret. Only save when you've made it past the falling debris and are in the secret item room. I messed up the recording so I didn't get that part, but it isn't too hard. You have to jump back and forth to trigger the falling ceiling before moving on. When in the secret item room, it is a bunch of tricky jumps with spikes. I actually did this one first try my very first playthrough.

The fourth secret is just after the mega man area, in the beginning of the metroid area. You jump into a secret wall and stone some baddies by shooting them. Then use them to jump across to the secret item, which is inside a red ball. You have to shoot the red ball before you jump on it or you die.

The fifth secret is after the mega man disappearing/appearing platform sequence. You have to hold jump down the entire time on the couch so you are propelled into the secret item screen. Then it is lots of tricky jumps. Make sure not to double jump until the final wall-jump.

The last secret is near the end of the game, after shinobi's revenge. You walk onto a falling block and jump left a screen under the bridge. Then ride the platform to the right and jump up through the bridge towards the save point. You have to save near the edge of the screen, reset, run, and jump for the moving platform. If you wait, it will not be synced with the other platforms and you die. The last one is almost certainly the hardest.

@eddiErdnuss They don't do anything. They are just difficult to obtain and therefore a challenge for players to collect.

i beat the game and it wont let me back in the metroid area how do i get back there?

@kablepwns187 Once you beat Mother Brain you can't go back into the Metroid area. If you use the Room of Divine Transportation to warp to the MB area, it actually puts you in the room immediately after the escape sequence.

@mcdonaldman56 The secrets don't actually do anything. Or at least, they didn't do anything while I was playing the game. I haven't checked the website for a long time to see if it had been updated. It is possible that new features were added by now. However, I expect it to remain as a bonus feature for you to find for bragging rights.

@Golbeeze Does the gun at the Ghouls and Ghosts part give you a new gun in game? Or is it still the little pistol thinger?

@Tiduses1 hehehe, you just have to practice the timing a bit. The second jump has to be at the max height of the first jump to make it up there.

0:37 I tried a million times but it's impossible to me to get up there, I start to think that my game version has a less high jump XD
