  • great vid, great display, and great flying too, i really thought the pilot was going to roll her a couple of times! we were lucky to have her take off from our side of airfield, i dont think i have ever been so close to a vulcan take-off! Its a shame this mighty aircraft is constantly struggling to get funding, perhaps if they targetted premiership footballers, they could easily maintain her-£38k a week looks peanuts compared to,oh, shall we say £250k per week for wayne rooney!

  • @frogfister Superb idea about the footballers frogfister. You are truly a genius.

  • @Thunderchief35 thanks, but genius?..never, this idea came from a moment of monkey madness!! i will accept the title of 'King of the silverbacks' tho!

  • @frogfister Well wasn't Cornelius viewed as some kind of ape genius???

  • This was AMAZING to see fly! My dad was right, it IS an awesome plane :) really enjoyed watching it (Y)

  • @NewRomanticx Most awe inspiring thing I saw with the Vulcan was a Scramble of 4 (i think it was) of them at Finningley Airshow in the early 80s (don't remember what year it was as was only a nipper then).

  • saw them scramble at Waddington display - late 1950s I think, they were anti-radiation white then.

  • @Thunderchief35 My dad slept through i think a 9 scramble of phantoms... I dont know how he managed that.. Also if everybody at the airshow donated atleast a pound it would easily get around 200k at waddo. They want to see the vulcan but they dont dig into their pockets!

  • @Thunderchief35 well what a coincidence, i was there too! you are right, there were 4 of them, and i think it was 1984?(could be wrong tho-it was a long time ago and dates and times have become fuzzy now!,i will never forget that sound tho)

  • i stood behind it as it was warming up its engines

  • I was there too! :)
