How to Install a New Ceiling Light Fixture

1. Determine if a wire can run down the cavity of the wall. Some fire blocking may prevent an easy installation or require more demolition then repair.

2. Start in the attic and run one end of the wire down to the switch. Use fishing tape or simply twine with a heavy object on the end such as a metal bolt. Then pull the electrical wire using the twine.
3. Locate the ceiling light placement and drill from the room up to the attic. Locate the hole from the attic and run the electrical wire to the ceiling light.
