While Tom Hanks is a minor character in the movie, he produced the film and his presence will (probably) get people to check it out. It's simply a marketing strategy used to promote the movie.
I enjoyed the movie. Malkovich did a great job as Buck Howard and it taught me that it's not about the magic; it's about the person behind the magic that made him special.

@Marcelim02 the reason the focus is sorta on tom hanks is because he is the most well none star in the film,his son stars in the film and plus he produced the film!,and i love tom and colin hanks!lol and dont u think colin hanks is so like his dad!?!? lol

The big media as ABC are lame as in the movie itself.
Tom Hanks is a minor character in the movie, but they put the focus on him.
The main character are Malkovich, Colin and Emily. TV people are aways a bunch of dumbasses.

Looks like a great film! I liked seeing Ton Hanks put the media in their place. All too often they ask lame question that invite a negative response. Asking Hanks if he is proud of his son? WTF do they think?! I can think of a dozen really great questions for Hanks about the film. I've been to many major film fests and most of the media are doing the parties, schmooze & free booze thing, NOT seeing films. What a waste of airfare & per deum!!!
