I had to sign in just to comment on this. I jump rope for cardio at my local gym and have become decent but nothing to this extent. You sir, are hands down nasty. Keep it up and are you training to be a boxer?

Hey bud,
I am getting all the footwork down that you showed.
However I am running into a huge issue of having calve and knee cramps during and post skipping... pain about a 8 out of 10...
No matter how much water, banana , and stretching I do before skipping...
The only remedy that relieves the pain is hot water after...
Any tips on how to PREVENT this issue?

Hello,
People usually cramp up from overexerting the muscles, or from lack of rest (most often sleep). I cramp up a lot when I lift weights when I don't get enough sleep. Is that the issue for you?
If not, you'll just slowly train your calves to have more endurance. You may be just jump roping too much that it is past your calves limits. You'll slowly get used to it. Good luck! :)

how long does my rope need to be?
I got one long enough ... when standing in the middle of the rope the handles come up to my arm pits... but I am still having a hard time keeping momentum and keep tripping on the rope... should I get a longer rope?

I always use the 9 ft. rope. I'm 5'9". If it's too long for you, stick your elbows further out so you aren't dragging the rope.
