After a few days of burn-in, I like the sound it makes with my Lehmann Audio BCL amp. However, the headband is a bit too tight. Too much clamping pressure but the ear pads are soft and well padded enough to make it bearable. The sound is not as crisp as the HD800 and IMO it's a bit warm. Of the amps I've tried, the Lehmann BCL is neutral enough that the HD650 is not too warm sounding. I now wonder if the HD600 would suit my taste better since it has a flatter FQ response.

I was just wondering is a headphone amp needed for these cans? For instance is the headphone amp used to obtain high SPL's or does it change the sonic qualities of the sound. I dont think I would be listening to very loud music to be honest (85dB max) and they would probably be plugged into an mbox for mixing purposes most of the time. Would an mbox suffice?

Deutschland - Ireland ----- China. I wish they'd all still be made in Germany, though I have to say Sennheisers mich products feel of better quality than akgs mich products. I love AKG but I wouldnt buy any more of their mich models after the k540s... pretty flimsy. My older k270s made in Austia were of much better build quality.

Seriously, why do the people in unboxing videos always talk about the packaging,"Oh, the box is a very nice box...doesn't feel cheap" ;P, watch any unboxing video, same shit. lol.
