So we "did our thing" today. It was a lot of fun!Forty or more persons turned out, maybe a quarter American, some Australians, a Dane, a Dutch woman, and mostly French, including the mayor of Montoire. One person commented that Barack was able to bring out the most diverse group hehad ever seen in this region.

  • France used to love the U.S. They gave us the statue of liberty. They have a very long history and still observe this U.S. as a young nation. Our relations are historic. They're our neighbors and they care. It's as simple as that.

  • Wow, this is amazing how Obama is inspiring people all over the world. He just has that IT factor that draws people to him, its truley amazing to watch.

  • The french don't benefit at all from Obama's election, they know this right? they'll continue to just live in nothingness, Just like they are in this video.

  • thanks to the french ppl who show our leaders the respect they earn around the world

  • Quels imbéciles!

  • french people are weired

  • Funny how the french and other europeans are so excited about obama's election and yet they mistreat and discriminate minorities in their countries.

  • Also, I have been reading about other countries, cultures, etc, since I was nine years old.

  • It is indeed.

  • I am an American and I am teaching myself several languages. You are going by stereotype, sir, and there are quite a few of my people that aren't like that. In my area of the United States Spanish is spoken almost as much as English, so you do need to know a bit of Spanish. I have great admiration for Europe, it has some great history, very beautiful architecture, and wonderful landscapes.

  • The song is called SUR LE PONT D'AVIGNON...we used to sing it in grade school - for French class. If I remember correctly, the rough translation was "on the Avignon bridge, we dance." They're singing...on that 'local' bridge (can't catch the actual name), we're saying, "YES WE CAN!" Don't you just LOVE IT?!
