I've read you shouldn't pray to guardian angels but archangels because of the hierarchal assignments of angels..can anyone clear this angelological question up?

Could it be that the Archangel Gabriel is a guardian angel as well? As a little kid of about 4 to 6 years old I always told people that he was my guardian angel. I don't know where I got this from or how I even knew about St. Gabriel as a young kid. I also found it strange that other people couldn't tell me who their guardian angel was. Was that a revelation from God or just childish fantasy?

We do not name our angels, but God allows us to receive the name of the gaurdian angel that has been assigned to us. God has named our angel and we receive the name in prayer.

I have had over 100 prophetic dreams in the last 15 years. The night before my Great Aunt passed into eternity, The Trinity gave me dream in which I saw my great aunt accompanied by her guardian angel to the particular judgement. God The Father spoke and said, "It's time." I awoke from the dream because my grandmother(great aunts sister) called me and told me my great aunt had just passed away. The Fathe said "It's time" because it was time for the soul to come to him for judgement. Peace

Very beautiful homily. Over the past year been praying in earnst to my Guardian Angel. I have been making strides toward Christ.
I wish more people could see the great help God has given us in our Guradian Angels.
