I am from the United States and I think his criticisms are on the spot. We do make crap cars. They are made to be disposable and that's a shame. American car companies need to wake up and build something that lasts. I've had a Cadillac and I've had a BMW. They were the same price and the BMW embarrasses the Cadillac. I think American cars do a pretty good job of embarrassing themselves as well.

First of all America is spelt with a c, second of all I meant the first automobile like ones we have today, the Benz was more or less a steam powered go cart that most people couldn't figure out. Your man Clarkson even said that the first Cadillac is the first real car. And as for the fat thing, Tue united states is the size of europe. And its better to be fat and happy rather then skinny and miserable. Good luck with all the fucked up immigrants

I hate when Clarkson keeps making fun of the Corvette's leaf spring setup, always failing to mention that it's a transverse leaf setup, and it's of high-tech composite material, which yields to lighter suspension, lower unsprung mass, and better overall handling.
