What's more stupid, is living in a place you can't afford. Yeah her house was bite-sized but damnit, she made that work. Remember the location too, where a decent sized apartment is probably NOT cheap.

Actually I did just that, and I have to say I am mistaken. Average price for rent by sq ft in Manhattan for 2013 went up to 4%. So for 2013, the average going rate is $59/Sq Ft, which is absolutely insane IMO, New York or not.

I was paying about the same for the same sort of place when I lived in Fort Erie across the border from Buffalo Newyork.

That's Newyork I guess, a bachelor in Toronto Canada for $700 is a much larger space.
