By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan's Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month. She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot microstudio. After a bit of adjustment she now loves living smaller, simpler and cozier.

actually a jail cell is 7 by 9 and the bunk beds allow my inmates to have plenty of on top of each other sex without anyone hitting their head on the ceiling

I still live at home with my parents and brother in a 2,000 sq. ft. house and you truly inspire me to one day move out and realize that you do not need a lot of space to live in. One day I plan on living in a home similar to yours.
P.S. Good luck on your book

I confess that when I lived in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment, I was on the street all the time , spending money, to compensate the feeling of the small place. Later when I could afford my own house I realized how small was my first place and it kicked me ouot to the street. It is ok for starters though.

I have a feeling, though, that if she was living in a huge house in North Dakota, she'd be going out of her mind. I know I would. People who are accustomed to urban life, in general, do not enjoy living in quiet for more than a week or two. Just like people who are accustomed to country life would go nuts if they had to live in Manhattan for more than a few days! Different strokes for different folks, and so on and so on.
