It is the 26' Classic Trailer (Sturgus, Michigan) Aviator model, and is the prototype which was designed to hold my Highlander (the one in the video). The door is lowered by an electric wench since it is very heavy (beefed up to allow me to drive my car up the ramp). The trailer weighs in at 4,500 pounds empty, but is easy to pull and tracks well with my Foretravel 36' motor home.

What size trailer is that? It looks smaller that 24'.

Has anyone installed a UL260i in a Highlander? I think it would be an excellent pairing, in terms of, performance and economy.

I love the versatility of the Highlander. We have ours on straight floats so we transport it to the lake using a pontoon trailer and just put it in the water like a boat (first extend the wings). Works pretty slick, but we are definitely looking for amphibs...

The Highlander has a much larger (250 pound) luggage compartment capacity which makes it a real cross country airplane. With my Jabiru 3300 (120 HP) air cooled engine it will cruise at about 100 MPH consuming 4.5 GPH of either 100LL Avgas or 91-93 oct. automotive gas. With the larger 23 gal. tanks a 4 hour range is easily handled. The large wings and vertical tail make it delight to fly and land at under 30MPH. The factory people are a delight to work with and really seem to care.
