Citizen Kate spends the day with the Amish and Mennonites in Indiana to discover how they feel about the Voter ID Law, which could take away their right to vote.

I spent a wonderful day with my new friends at the Miller Buggy Line Tours and Menno-Hof Center in Shipshewana. The Amish and Mennonites are simple, lovely, and very green people.

Al Gore should hang out with them to realize the real inconvenient truth is that this community of super green people people may loose their right to vote.

I learned firsthand what this community thinks about voting, the candidates and great leaders. So I spoke with one Amish man, and one liberal Mennonite, Joe Yoder, who's name is all over the town. Yoder's are very popular there. They must love Star Wars!

Note to self: Sometimes people choose not to vote. But they should always have the choice.

  • Jesus is your King. If you vote for someone else, your voting for the devil. Good luck getting into heaven if you voted. It mean you would rather have someone else as your King.

  • They're better off because they don't live under the reign of the corporate government which we know as THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. You are not obligated to carry an ID, vote or even follow the STATES of the government since it's corporate. It relies on your ignorance.

We are a Republic and the Corporate Government relies on your consent.

The Amish have refused to consent and are Freemen On The Land. It's nearly impossible for these corporate governments to take power over them.

  • I vote Yellow Dog Democrat. My(Mennonite)faith is about passage that Jesus says to learn the meaning of: "Kindness I will nd not sacrifice." By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. Love your enemies. Repay evil with good...Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. I try to extend this to humans, animals and plants...and myself.

  • Mennonites have more divisions for their number than any other denomination, from the most separatist Hutterites to the most liberal who are indistinguishable as Mennonites. Many Mennonites do not call themselves "Mennonite", but "believers", or just "Christians". Pamphlets are available promoting wearing distinctive clothing, men wearing beards, prayer caps for women, pacifism, etc. I did not vote until our bishop asked us to vote for conservation efforts. Now I vote at every opportunity.

  • coming from a mennonite living in the area, please don't come to my home and antagonize us....live and let live.

(holy shit, how is this letter board is making words on this picture box!?!)

  • Great ass shot cameraman.

  • Fat reporter. Lol.
