Nando was battling me. It was pretty intense. My needles skipped on my scratch set in the second round, so I got owned basically. =) I'm surprised there's footage of this and it's actually the ITF USA Finals 1998.

@Dewamaru why the hell are you watching this then

Vinyl manipulation. Taking existing song arrangements and re-arranging them on the fly. This is the dirty side of DJing. The real underground funky stuff. Of course most of us came from mobile DJing and we can rock party's too. This is just one segment of many when it comes to being a DJ. :)
Being able to showcase your skills to a broad audience in order to influence and elevate the artform.

FSHOO, HELLAA DOPE :]
whats the point of this? Im not a dj, but all of that didnt sound like music at all. All of it seemed out of beat as well. Not h8ing or anything, just wondering how and why people practice this.

@Dewamaru
hmmm..... i 'm trying really hard to see how i can answer your comment.
i guess you grow up listening to a very different type of music that we're used to and probably live in a different culture. this stuff doesn't fit with normal music theory, it looks easy but its *really hard* when you're infront of some real turntables trying to weave out even 1 or 2 sounds. this evolved from early days of "cutting and sampling". Also this *Turntablism*, not *club dj'ing* where they play music.
