Yesterday, May 15, 2008, The Corporation of the city of Mississauga held its first annual "2008 CITY SHOWCASE tomorrow today" All Staff Event at the Living Arts Centre.

Since it didn't say "NO PUBLIC", I decided to show up and videotape the displays and proceedings.

Mississauga Transit was right up there front and centre. Two buses and *gasp* the "302" Transit Enforcement Dodge Charger that I'd been waiting to document from the left/front.

I videotaped and videotaped and then went back for more and videotaped. Let's put it this way --if the "302" car was a human, the only thing I didn't document was a colonoscopy.

Special thanks to the Mississauga Transit Supervisor who allowed me easy access to the inside of the "302" car. MUCH appreciated.

  • What's your point?

  • Actually, my point has changed somewhat since I first posted this video. Either way it shows a beautiful white Dodge Charger that got wrecked in February 2008 and (happily) someone did a great job fixing it up.

  • whats the freedom of info?

does it mean you can just walk up to a cop and ask them to let you see the car?,

    and whats the transit enforcement?

  • Freedom of Information allows citizens to peer behind the muncipality's smiling public face. There's a huge difference (at least in my city) between what is claimed and what staff emails privately state.

Also, please be careful. This is NOT a police car but rather a city government car that was on display for a public event.

This is actually a car (as you asked) for Transit Enforcement. These are security guards not subject to provincial oversight or the provincial complaints process.

  • whoa they fixed it up real good.

  • Hi blackhawk777 and thanks for your note. Yes, they really did fix the Transit 302 Dodge Charger up something beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, if you get the chance check out the latest video I uploaded on our Peel Regional Police 2008 Dodge Chargers and their new trim. Handsome like anything.

    All the best!

  • not in ontario, blue, yellow/orange are fine, red is emergency vehicle (ie, law enforcement, fire, ems etc)

  • ohh ok now i understand thanks

  • What sort of legislation if any allows these chargers to run blue lights? I thought those were only intended for emergency vehicles? Security vehicles can only run orange from what I know. Thanks for the vids btw.

  • They had to do a lot of changes to the car to make it a cop or transit enforcement vehicle. They had to give it column shift and changed the console for the radios and various equipment. Plus tires, suspension, cooling system and transmission cooling. We have these cars in Scarborough too.
