5-MeO-DMT, Aliester Crowley and T.O.A.D. - An Interview with Hal Lucius Nation (excerpt)

How is ritual important to the safe and proper use of entheogens? And how does ritual help facilitate a deeper entheogenic experience? What is 5-MeO-DMT, and why is it so seldom discussed in entheogenic studies? And what is T.O.A.D?

Today I interview Hal Lucious Nation, the "Grand ArchBishop" of The Temple of Awakening Divinity, or T.O.A.D.

5-MeO-DMT (5-Methoxy-N-N-Dimethyltriptamine), is probably the most powerful of all entheogens and is not a "schedule 1 narcotic". Simultaneously, it is one of the least studied and discussed of all of the entheogens today. Like its cousin N-N-DMT, 5-MeO-DMT is a natural neurotransmitter found in all mammalian brains. In this interview will be looking into the use of ritual - and the ritualistic use of 5-MeO-DMT, and discussing some of the practices of the Temple of Awakening Divinity.

Hal Lucius Nation is the founder, chief officiant and Hierophant of the Temple of Awakening Divinity. A student, teacher and practitioner of the Western Mystery School tradition for nearly 20 years - his work in Ceremonial Magick, Raja Yoga, Hermetic Qaballah, the Neo-Eleusinian Mysteries, Transpersonal Alchemy and Ontology prepared him for his personal reception of Entheogenic Gnosis, which he received in 2005. In 2007 he was called by Source to bring this revelation of the Great Mystery to others and established the T.O.A.D. as a vehicle to bring Entheogenic spirituality to those drawn to a direct and deeper experience of the Divine.

He has made several appearances on Dr. Martin Balls Entheogenic Evolution podcast in addition to making contributions to Dr. Balls book of the same name, which focuses on the Work of the Temple. He regularly conducts ceremonial circles for the Temple and is actively developing entheogenic spiritual communities across the west coast to assist members of the Temple in the integration of the Work.

@Psychonautical0 You're entirely wrong. DMT is produced in the blood, lungs and cerebral spinal fluid. There is no proof that it's produced in the pineal. And 5-MeO-DMT or 5-Methoxy-N-N-DMT is another that's found in the same locations, but precursors have been found in the pineal, but not living tissue. The 5 has nothing to do with htp. You're confusing methamphetamine with methoxy. You should really read a few books and get your facts strait before you spread such nonsense on the internet.

@GnosticMedia I totally agree with you my friend. Because GOD is eternal and his grace does not fit into temples made of stone nor in idols made of bronze. Everything a man can do is blasphemy to his eyes, and this is why man creates false gods. But I will tell you that in the New testament (read it) there is no mention of the atrocities made by the so called christians who created a modern pagan worship. The virgin mary is not mentioned as a deity. Temples do not exist in the N.T.

@Jimlead Jim, people have killed each other over their gods and their beliefs, what they think is the Holy Father: a patriarchal, blind following of an all powerful man god that they were brain washed as children to picture like Santa Claus. But worshiping creation has nothing to do with worshiping cows, idols, etc... which Christians and their Jesus statues and Marys and crosses are the same. Man also has a bad habit of worshiping gods he makes up to console himself, such as here...

@GnosticMedia Sicne you've talked about creation, man has the bad habit to worship creations. Cows, monkeys, idols, temples, inexistant gods of their imagination, statues... But wouldn't be better if we give all the glory to our Holy Father, the one and eternal GOD, who does not fit into temples, cannot be represented by statues nor idols nor symbols, and who is so great that can fill up the whole universe and so small that can fill up your heart!

Unless it is something that has a real result. The human mind cannot understand nor can reach GOD. But he has a chance to have a taste of his light. @Jimlead You're incredibly illogical. Your fallacies are all over the place. Every book is created by man, none by god. God creates trees, birds, brooks, mountains, lakes, nature... MAN creates books, streets, houses, computers, etc. There are no contradictions in nature, so man created the Bible, and everything man writes needs to be checked for fallacies. (logical fallacies) Would that be a single book ? Which claims to teach the truth ? And how would you take the fact that all these human books accept the Holy Saviour Jesus Christ ? Aleister Crowley was a gnostic/satansit who was corrupted to the bone. But it seemed that not even himself realized what he has done. The only true and undeniable light and power is the power of the Lord Jesus Christ! It beats up any minor demonic so called knowledge. The Holy spirit burns everything that stands before it.
