In this lesson we discuss the Hebrew Shewa: [ ְ ]. The Shewa can be silent, or non-silent - a "moving Shewa" (also known as a "vocal Shewa", or a "mobile Shewa").
In order for us to find Shewa, we read Genesis 11:3, which shows the familiarity of the author with Mesopotamian building practices. When you visit the old city in Jerusalem, you will surely notice the uniform white stone structure of every building. In Mesopotamia, on the other hand, there are no stones nearby; therefore, they burnt clay in the fire to make hard bricks for building.

@ArmoredSaint63 Thank you for this question: Moving Shewa appears as the second of two consecutive shewas (the first is silent).

In the word with the shewas just the first one is silent and the ah for the other two?
